Team Gilgit-Baltistan — Independence Day Thalassemia Awareness

On 14 August 2026, Peace Welfare Organization's Team Gilgit-Baltistan marked Pakistan's Independence Day with a public Thalassemia awareness drive. Volunteers walked through the bazaars and main streets, handing out awareness pamphlets and speaking directly with shopkeepers, elders, religious scholars and young people about how Thalassemia spreads and why pre-marital blood screening is essential. The day closed with a cake cutting alongside community elders — celebrating independence while pledging to work for a Thalassemia-free Pakistan.
